Why Travel Insurance Matters
Expect the Unexpected
The primary reason we recommend travel insurance is to protect your investment, which includes expecting the unexpected. As travelers know, not all trips go according to plan, and some environments and experiences are more susceptible to disruption and unanticipated events than others. (While even the best-laid plans and most meticulously crafted itineraries can still yield disruptive or unforeseen circumstances negatively impacting travel.)
Especially for travelers who may not have medical coverage outside the United States, and those going on extreme or adventure trips, such as safari, higher risk trips, or visiting other remote locations, etc having travel insurance coverage can duly help fill those gaps — while also mitigating worry and stress should something adverse come to pass. Other more typical disruptions can range from transportation (due to weather, maintenance, strikes, etc) or natural disasters, political developments, etc — some of which can be anticipated while many others cannot. Additionally, for us personally, having experienced an unexpected medical event while living abroad, having the right medical insurance truly made all the difference and prevented an accumulation of out-of-pocket bills from the ambulance to an extended hospital stay. Given these factors and the increasingly volatile geopolitical environment our world faces, in our opinion, this only heightens the need to consider and purchase travel insurance protection.
Why We Chose Faye
Here at jo•vage we offer our clients insurance with Faye, thanks in part to its award winning app designed for today’s modern travelers. And as of last month, Faye now offers Faye First International* — built specifically for international trips with primary emergency medical coverage up to $100K, so our clients are covered first, not last. We also offer our clients our agency’s personal Quote link so they can compare plans and coverages for trips at their leisure. Through Faye the following plans are offered for both domestic and international travel for residents of all U.S. states. They also offer add-ons such as “Cancel For Any Reason” and “Cancel For Work Reasons” (though be aware of any associated timeline stipulations, which we discuss with our clients, when you begin booking your travel) as well as vacation rental damage or adventure coverage and more.
Additionally, there are several other features that Faye affords which compelled our partnership. A TIME Best Invention, its ultra accessible and highly intuitive app offers instant claim filing, quick reimbursement, proactive real-time alerts, 24/7 concierge and assistance, the ability to speak with a doctor virtually (from a network of over 20,000) — to name a few highlights. It can also track added flights in real-time, as well as any delays or cancellations, and enjoy lounge access for flight delays of over three hours.

Closing Thoughts
It is important to note that there are many various travel insurance companies and coverage options available (in addition to any coverage you may already have, which we also recommend reviewing), and we always recommend finding the right one for your specific situation. Which is where we come in. As a Travel Agency partner with Faye we can help our clients tailor the right coverages for them and their specific travels as well as be available for anything they may need throughout their journey — given our direct access to Faye, especially for clients’ insurance policy and technical questions (in addition to Faye’s concierge and support teams being available 24/7 for assistance as well).
